The project was born from the idea of creating a light, sound, easy to handle and a very economical harpsichord.
I found the solution starting from the small harpsichord of Giovanni Battista Giusti from Lucca, dated 1681 and currently at the Germanisches National Museum in Nuremberg with catalog number MINe78.
The original model have a short first octave, C/E – c3 extension with a length of 190 cm and a width of 75 cm.
Starting from this model I created an instrument with a light cypress case (5 mm thick)Â without the external case.
Any other implementations can be added to this essential version such as the addition of the first double octave, 415/440 Hrz transposition, acute extension up to d3 and more to be agreed upon or when ordering.
Finally, it is possible to build a containment box equipped with a lid and stands and also the classic ‘false outer case’
